Violinistextremist
An explosive one-woman electric violinist knock-out!
Kytami is a violinistextremist.  Perhaps Canada’s most diverse and engaging fiddle player, she is an unbelievably energetic performer. Kytami can bound between classical and fiddle styles, match them to heavy bass and electronic dance beats and then effortlessly cross genres to combine her skills and sound with the pounding of skins in punk and metal.

With her abilities, style and devilish smile, she has won over audience after audience, appearing at most major festivals across Canada and in the Western U.S. as well as performing overseas in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany and Dubai.  Kytami has appeared on albums by The Swollen Members and The Rebel Spell, collaborated with bands such as the dancehall/hip-hop group Third Eye Tribe, Goatsblood and legendary dub producer The Mad Professor and has also co-written two albums and toured extensively with the multi-cultural, award-winning band Delhi 2 Dublin.

Kytami’s debut album, Conflation, was a concept: featuring tracks recorded with a variety of hip-hop producers in different studios, the one cohesive element being Kytami's electric violin. Her second solo album, Kytami, was released in 2012. She continues to rock dance floors as a part of a duo with turntablist/producer DJ The Phonograff.

First touching a turntable back in ’95, THE PHONOGRAFF isn’t new to the DJ game by any means. He has been building and crafting his skills for over 15 years, rocking shows in night clubs back in the day before he was even legal. The PhonoGraff is not only a DJ and a producer, he is also a highly skilled turntablist that manipulates the decks in a tasteful – yet murderous – way.  Some people even say he’s possessed!

Residing in Vancouver, Canada for the past 10 years, The PhonoGraff has released one completely original, critically acclaimed album called “From The Bottom Up”,  a hip hop mixtape called “Train of Thought”, and one Dubstep mix CD called “Sound Proof”. As well, he has opened for an impressive list of artists, including Blackalicious, Lady Sovereign, Alkaholiks, Jurassic 5, Digable Planets, Zion I, Living Legends, 50 Cent, Pigeon John, Maestro Fresh Wes, Sixtoo and Swollen Members.

Together, this unassailable duo is getting ready to bring their crazy ninja skills and infectious energy to you with a fresh new sound they’re calling “Violin vs. Vinyl.”

Kytami and Phonograff are also joined by MC Mista Chatman in many of their engagements.

You can also find Kytami fiddling her heart out with Blackie and The Triumphs, a band she spearheads with her husband Jason Le Blanc. They are also currently in the studio recording their debut album “Thinkinaboutdrinkin”.

“…it may have been chance, fate, or any number of supernatural phenomenons that brought Kytami into the fold of “Lownote.” All that is known is that she arrived one evening and never left. She has brought sight to the blind, pride to the meek, and blood to the muscle. She brought life from the mountains.”
- Don Mann (Lownote)

"Kytami's parents may never have anticipated this...for their child. But their smoking hot daughter and a phenomenal DJ helped a lot of people forget themselves and dance their asses off the other night. And that is a beautiful thing."
- Mike Simmons
