It's a revolution, can you keep a secret? This Vancouver-based pop punk quartet is set to take the world by storm with their catchy hooks, passion fuelled lyrics and old school attitude. Real songs about real things are just a fraction of what makes this band something to watch out for. With intelligent heads on their shoulders these boys know also how to have fun, live life and bring you into their exciting secret world like a magnetic force beyond your control.
Secret Revolution was formed two years ago when guitarist/vocalist Roxy Danger and guitarist/vocalist Brooklyn Chase started to write and record acoustic songs purely for fun. Local producer engineer Rick Wellen of Clark Drive Studios quickly took notice of their potential and signed them to an album deal. From here, Roxy and Brooklyn went on a hunt to find drummer (Roman) and bass player (August Taylor) who were perfect for the band; having the same love and passion for pop punk that Roxy and Brooklyn both shared. The goal of Secret Revolution is to make music that inspires and connects with their audience in the same way that music has inspired and connected with them.
Secret Revolution’s long awaited debut EP “Epic” was released on October 2, 2011 and is currently available on iTunes. They have been played on Vancouver’s own 99.3 The Fox and have shared the stage with notable acts such as: The Ataris, Brighter Brightest (Much Discovered), Chasing Amee (Much Music Disband), and For The Weekend (Much Music Discovered).
SECRET REVOLUTION IS:
Brooklyn Chase – The only true west-coaster of the group, Brooklyn grew up in Vancouver British Columbia, idolizing the likes of Tom Delong (Blink 182), and Kris Roe (The Ataris). As his favourite songs settled deep into his subconscious, they built a fire in his belly that could only be satisfied through his own song writing and singing. His charisma and showmanship are undeniable, not to mention his sensitive side which comes across strikingly through ballads such as “If You Hate Me” and “My First and Last Regret”.
Roxy Danger - Roxy grew up in Toronto, learning all his music theory on the alto saxophone. From this foundation he taught himself the guitar and created a platform for him to express his deepest emotions, feelings and experiences through melody and song. Moving from Toronto to Vancouver gave him just the fresh start he needed, quickly finding his ground in the new city, getting people excited about his songs and style. Idolizing the likes of Mike Herara (MxPx) and Kris Roe (The Ataris), Roxy's passion for music is unparalleled.
Roman – Roman grew up in Mexico City, learning how to play the drums from the early age of 9 years old. With influences such as Travis Barker (Blink 182) and LP Parsons II (Yellowcard) Roman became a force to be reckoned with when he moved from Mexico to Canada to pursue the audio engineering program at the Art Institute of Vancouver. His positive attitude and drive have allowed Secret Revolution to accelerate their path to greatness.
August Taylor – August grew up in London England, always having a strong desire to perform. Listening to the same US pop punk bands as the rest of the guys solidified his destiny in the band. He brings a solid package of song writing, singing and bass playing to the table.
